Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev: 'Thomas Lemar won't leave in January'

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev insists that Thomas Lemar will not be allowed to leave Stade Louis II during the January transfer window.

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has claimed that no discussions have taken place over the sale of winger Thomas Lemar.

Since the end of the summer transfer window, Lemar has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all said to be interested in signing the French international.

However, with Monaco currently sitting in second place in the standings, the Ligue 1 side intend to keep one of their star men at the club until at least the end of the season.

"The sales of important players is not on the agenda. We have never spoken [to Lemar or his entourage] about the possibility of a January departure," the Daily Star quotes Vasilyev as saying.

Lemar - who is said to be valued in the region of £80m - has contributed just two goals and four assists from 16 outings in France's top flight and the Champions League this season.
