Hull City are reportedly preparing to make an offer for Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.
The England international has seen his chances limited at Old Trafford and he started just 15 games in the Premier League last season.
Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie are thought to be new manager Louis van Gaal's first-choice partnership in attack, and the club's lack of European football could mean even less playing time for Welbeck.
According to The Mirror, Steve Bruce wants to bring in a replacement for Shane Long, who is expected to sign for Southampton, but he will have to pay a club-record £14m to land Welbeck.
Welbeck came through the youth ranks at United and he has had spells on loan at Preston North End and Sunderland.
