West Ham United are reportedly preparing an improved offer for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
The Mexican, an unused substitute in the Red Devils' win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, was widely expected to leave Old Trafford after failing to secure regular first-team action under Louis van Gaal's regime.
According to the Daily Star, the Hammers had an £8.5m offer rejected by United, but are readying an increased bid.
It is thought that Van Gaal will not stand in Hernandez's way, if the right offer comes in for the forward.
Hernandez spent last season on loan at Real Madrid.
