West Ham United reportedly target as many as four unwanted Manchester United players for the summer transfer window.

Manchester United could reportedly see as many as four of their players targeted by West Ham United in the summer transfer window.

Having overseen a mass exodus of players during his first few months in charge of the club, Erik ten Hag is expected to cut several more fringe names from his ranks this summer.

The Red Devils are in need of funds for their pursuit of a big-name striker, having been linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane as potential Cristiano Ronaldo replacements.

With several players struggling to force their way into Ten Hag's starting lineup, CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs - via The Sun - claims that West Ham could try for a sensational quadruple swoop.

Donny van de Beek, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire are supposedly all on the Hammers' radar, with the latter playing a peripheral role despite holding the captain's armband.

Since coming under fire for several high-profile errors, Maguire has seen Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane become Ten Hag's first-choice pairing, while Victor Lindelof and even Luke Shaw are also preferred in central roles.

Maguire - who cost Man United £80m to poach from Leicester City in 2019 - has only started five Premier League matches this season, and his contract with the Red Devils expires in 2025.

The England international could arrive at the London Stadium as a replacement for Craig Dawson, who joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in January, and West Ham are also planning for life without much-coveted skipper Declan Rice.

The 24-year-old's contract is up at the end of next season, and West Ham are expected to let him leave this summer rather than risk seeing Rice walk out of the door for nothing in 2024.

Van de Beek and McTominay could both fill the Rice void, with the former failing to impress under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick and Ten Hag since joining from Ajax in 2020.

The Dutchman has two goals and two assists from 60 games in a Man United shirt, but the bulk of his appearances have come from the bench, and he is currently out for the long-term with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, McTominay finds himself behind Fred, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Marcel Sabitzer in the pecking order, starting just one Premier League game since October.

The 26-year-old also has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract, and Man United would reportedly be willing to accept a fee in the region of £25m to let him leave.

Finally, Martial snubbed an exit from Old Trafford in the summer with the aim of making a name for himself under Ten Hag, but he has made just nine Premier League appearances during an injury-plagued season.

The signing of a new number nine would open the door for Martial to depart, and the Frenchman's contract now has fewer than 18 months left to run.
