Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly expect to keep hold of Ruben Neves despite talk of a possible switch to Arsenal or Manchester United before Monday's deadline.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly expecting to keep hold of Ruben Neves this month, despite interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Portugal international is rumoured to be one of four engine room targets on Arsenal's transfer wishlist, with Mikel Arteta's midfield ranks severely depleted at the minute.

Man United have also long been linked with a move for Neves amid uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba's future, but Wolves are under little pressure to sell, with his deal expiring in 2024.

According to The Sun, Bruno Lage's side are optimistic about their chances of keeping the 24-year-old on the books for the remainder of the season and possibly beyond if they qualify for Europe.

The report adds that it would take an 'extraordinary offer' for Wolves to sanction Neves's exit this late in the window, with no less than £40m being considered.

Neves has two goals and one assist under his belt from 19 Premier League appearances this season and boasts a total of 22 goals and 11 assists from 197 appearances for Wolves since arriving from Porto in the summer of 2017.
