Ed Woodward: 'Manchester United spending to continue'

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward confirms that manager Louis van Gaal will be given more money to spend.

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has vowed to continue pumping money into the club.

The Red Devils have shelled out more than £250m on players under manager Louis van Gaal, but the businessman has promised that the spending will continue.

Woodward said at a fans forum that United's plan is to "continue to look to strengthen the squad and to reward young talent," reports the Daily Mail.

He confirmed that the club's revenue is on course to pass the £500m mark this year thanks to their return to the Champions League.

During the meeting, it was also confirmed that United's top brass are "reviewing" the possibility of forming a women's team.
