Former Blackpool and Charlton Athletic boss Jose Riga has been named the new head coach of Ligue 2 side Metz.
Riga oversaw just 15 games with Blackpool last season before leaving in October, and he also spent a second spell in charge of Standard Liege later in the campaign.
After deciding against signing a new contract with the Belgian club, the 57-year-old was linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday, who are searching for Stuart Gray's replacement.
Metz will be looking for an automatic return to Ligue 1 after being relegated from the top flight of French football in May.
