Mexico boss Miguel Herrera: 'We can win World Cup'

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera insists that his team has the potential to win the World Cup.

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera has insisted that his side is capable of winning the World Cup.

The 46-year-old said that his players will give "absolutely everything" at this summer's finals, starting with their opening match against Cameroon.

"I believe that we have a team that could be world champions," he told reporters. "We just have to convince them of that.

"There are some Mexico fans that sell their houses, cars to be at the World Cup. We're going to give absolutely everything.

"We're ready to go out to try and win the game, it is a really important match, key to our hopes of getting out of the group. We know that nothing is easy but we are going to work hard and do what we can."

Herrera has confirmed that there will be no place in his starting XI for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez against Cameroon.
