Middlesbrough forward Lukas Jutkiewicz will be missing for the start of the Championship side's campaign after suffering a knee injury.
The club's manager Tony Mowbray confirmed today that the 23-year-old will have to be sidelined for up to six to eight weeks after picking up the injury this week.
"Lukas has had a clean-up operation on his cartilage," Mowbray told the Northern Ech.
"He may miss the very start of the season but we would hope to have him available again soon after that."
Boro are due to begin their new campaign in just over a month's time with a Capital One cup clash against Bury.
