Middlesbrough are reportedly eager to re-sign James Morrison this summer.
The 29-year-old started his career at the Riverside Stadium, before switching to West Bromwich Albion in 2007.
He has remained with the Baggies ever since, but is now due to become a free agent next month.
West Brom confirmed last week that they were in discussions with Morrison over a new contract, but according to The Express, Boro are hoping that they can tempt the Scotland international back to Teeside.
The report adds that Boro, who have been promoted back to the Premier League, are prepared to pay Morrison £70,000 a week on top of a £2m signing-on fee.
Morrison made 98 appearances during his first stint with Boro, from which he scored seven goals.
