Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis has indicated that he wants to trim his squad at the Riverside Stadium during the January transfer window.
Pulis was named as the replacement for Garry Monk at the end of last month, and the former West Bromwich Albion head coach is likely to bring in fresh faces in the coming weeks.
However, according to Gazette Live, Pulis is more focused on making space in his first-team squad, with his preference being to work with a smaller group of players.
Fabio Da Silva, Adam Clayton, Adam Forshaw, Grant Leadbitter and Patrick Bamford have all been linked with a transfer away from the North-East outfit, but it has been suggested that no bids have been made for their signatures.
Middlesbrough currently sit in eighth place in the Championship table, two points adrift of the playoffs.
