Danny Shittu: 'Marc Bircham would be good for Millwall'

Danny Shittu says that Marc Bircham is a strong candidate to replace Kenny Jackett as Millwall manager.

Danny Shittu has said that Marc Bircham is a strong candidate to replace Kenny Jackett as Millwall manager.

The 34-year-old Queens Park Rangers coach has been heavily linked with the vacant position at The Den following Jackett's resignation on Tuesday.

Lions captain Shittu believes that Bircham would be a good appointment.

"I've known Marc Bircham for years and I played with him at QPR," he told talkSPORT.

"When I was there last season he was the reserve team coach. He's a nice guy, very passionate and works hard. He would be somebody that is good for the Millwall."

Bircham played for Millwall between 1996 and 2002.
