Australia international Tim Cahill is on the brink of re-joining League One side Millwall on loan for the rest of the season, according to a report.
The 38-year-old started his senior playing career with the Lions before moving on after six years for spells with Everton, New York Red Bulls, Shanghai Shenhua, Hangzhou Greentown and Melbourne City.
Cahill departed the latter of those clubs in December because of a lack of minutes and, with the World Cup finals approaching, he now appears to be on his way back to The Den on a short-term deal with the view to extending it by a further year.
According to Sky Sports News, Cahill is undergoing a medical with Millwall and an official announcement could be made before the end of Monday.
Nottingham Forest also showed a rumoured interest in the experienced midfielder, who last played in English football six years ago.
