Milton Keynes Dons have progressed to the third round of the League Cup following a 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers at home on Tuesday.
Blackburn were the first side to make an attempt on goal, when Ruben Rochina tried his luck from 12 yards in the fourth minute in vain.
Charlie MacDonald came close to putting MK Dons in the lead six minutes later, but he failed to keep his shot on target.
Stephen Gleeson too went for goal in the 26th minute for the hosts, but his effort from just outside the Blackburn penalty area went wide off the right post.
The Dons eventually broke the deadlock after the restart when Luke Chadwick found the target from 12 yards in the 53rd minute.
The midfielder was on hand to score the Dons' second of the game on 68 minutes from close range.
David Goodwillie halved the deficit for Blackburn with seven minutes left on the clock with a header, but it proved too little, too late for the visitors.
