The Dubai Sport Council has insisted that Diego Maradona is not interested in becoming the Montpellier coach next season.
The Argentine legend, who is a global ambassador for the institution, is on the radar of the defending French champions to succeed Rene Girard at the end of the season.
"Maradona is under contract with the Dubai Sport Council, which is a global organisation, and of which he is the global ambassador," Younes Bouklit, a Dubai Sport Council presidential advisor, told Montpellier paper Midi Libre.
"I've spoken to both the president [Swaidan Al Naboodah] and Diego about this matter. There's been no contact. He's absolutely not interested in coaching a Ligue 1 club."
Maradona is currently without a coaching job.
