Montpellier and Toulouse have drawn the opening game of the 2012-13 Ligue 1 season 1-1.
The game had very much an early-season feel about it, with the football not as crisp as expected, particularly from reigning champions Montpellier, and there were more red cards than goals.
The scoring was opened by the home side, Souleymane Camara converting from John Utaka's assist on 36 minutes.
Just three minutes later Jamel Saihi saw straight red for a foul on Pantxi Sirieix.
The game continued to lack a real cutting edge until 72 minutes, when Wissam Ben Yedder scored from an assist by Serge Aurier to bring the away side level.
A minute later Adrien Regattin was given a straight red of his own and Aurier then turned villain for the visitors with the third dismissal of the game on 84 minutes.
That was the end of the action and the spoils were shared in this feisty opening French encounter.
