First League Two Manager of the Month nominees announced

The first League Two Manager of the Month nominees of the season are revealed as Jim Bentley, Micky Mellon, Gary Rowett and Mark Yates.

Jim Bentley, Micky Mellon, Gary Rowett and Mark Yates have been revealed as the League Two Manager of the Month nominees for August.

As it is the first monthly award of the season, the four managers represent the teams in the top four after five games of the campaign.

Bentley's Morecambe won their first four games of the season before suffering their first loss at Tranmere Rover on Saturday.

Shrewsbury Town, under Mellon's guidance, are unbeaten in fourth after collecting 11 points and scoring 11 goals in their opening fixtures.

Rowett's Burton Albion, meanwhile, haven't shown any lagging signs after losing in the playoffs for a second straight season back in May. The Brewers are top of the table on 13 points and have conceded just three goals.

Finally, Yates's Cheltenham are also on 13 points and have kept three clean sheets so far.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
