Sassuolo have come from behind to take a 1-1 draw into the break in their Serie A opener with Napoli this evening.
The visitors made a strong start to the match and they took the lead in the third minute when Gonzalo Higuain's strike deflected into the path of Marek Hamsik, who fired the ball in from a tight angle.
Higuain threatened again for the visitors moments later with a powerful drive that flew inches wide of the post.
Sassuolo gradually fought their way back into the match and they equalised when Antonio Floro Flores brought down Domenico Berardi's pass over the top, before sliding a low effort past Pepe Reina.
With five minutes of the first half remaining they almost grabbed a second goal, but Gregoire Defrel's powerful shot was saved by the keeper as the teams headed into the break on level terms.
