Half-Time Report: Marek Hamsik goes closest, Sassuolo holding Napoli

Marek Hamsik goes closest to breaking the deadlock as Napoli and Sassuolo play out a goalless first half at the Stadio San Paolo.

Sassuolo frustrated Napoli in the opening half of this evening's Serie A match at the Stadio San Paolo.

Neither side found the net in the first 45, but it was Napoli who went closest to breaking the deadlock.

The first real chance didn't arrive until the 20-minute mark when Marek Hamsik shot at goal from close range and was denied by visiting goalkeeper Andrea Consigli.

Domenico Berardi went close for the visitors 10 minutes later before Hamsik was again denied the opener shortly before the break.

Napoli haven't drawn any of their last nine Serie A fixtures, winning six and losing three.
