Wednesday's Serie A predictions including Napoli vs. Torino

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Wednesday's Serie A fixtures, including Napoli vs. Torino.

Hellas Verona vs. Inter Milan (Wednesday, 5.30pm)

Inter Milan have Serie A's top spot in sight as they visit Hellas Verona for Wednesday's final fixture of an eventful year for the club.

While the Scudetto-chasing visitors have now won six league games on the spin, hosts Verona picked up only four points from their last four games after a bright start to the campaign.

We say: Hellas Verona 0-1 Inter Milan

Approaching the turn of the year, Inter have once more become a winning machine and - despite the inevitable onset of fatigue - should be able to grind out one more victory in Verona.

The hosts have been far from prolific, so Antonio Conte's much-improved back three can keep the Gialloblu firmly locked out in the bleak midwinter.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Bologna vs. Atalanta (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Atalanta BC conclude perhaps the most unforgettable year in the Bergamo club's long history at Bologna's Stadio Renato Dall'Ara on Wednesday.

The 14th-placed hosts welcome Gian Piero Gasperini's side having picked up just two points from their four most recent Serie A outings.

We say: Bologna 1-2 Atalanta BC

All the signs are that Atalanta - even without their excommunicated captain Papu Gomez - are getting back on track after a rollercoaster autumn term.

Goals should not be a problem for the visitors then, while drifting Bologna have lost form and focus of late and are too reliant on rejuvenated Azzurri midfielder Roberto Soriano for goals.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Roma vs. Cagliari (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Following their second four-goal setback against a top-four rival in a matter of weeks, Roma face former Giallorossi coach Eusebio Di Francesco's faltering Cagliari at Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.

The capital club are fourth in Serie A, while their Sardinian visitors sit 13th after failing to win a league game since early November.

We say: Roma 2-0 Cagliari

Roma's year has been full of goals but they have a reputation for faltering when the going gets tough against fellow top-four contenders.

Such flakiness should not affect their final clash of 2020 though, as Cagliari's attacking limitations mean that former Giallorossi midfielder Eusebio Di Francesco will take his side back to Sardinia empty-handed for Christmas.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Spezia vs. Genoa (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Two sides struggling at the bottom of the table face each other on Wednesday night, as Genoa travel to Spezia in what could be viewed as an early-season six-pointer.

Spezia went down 2-1 to Inter Milan on the weekend, while Genoa conceded two goals without reply away to Benevento, which proved to be the final nail in the coffin for Rolando Maran who was then sacked on Monday.

We say: Spezia 0-1 Genoa

There will not be much between these two sides on the day, but we could well see the boost of having a new manager at the helm make a real difference, and that is why we are predicting a narrow Genoa win.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

AC Milan vs. Lazio (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

League leaders AC Milan face a tough year-ending test against Lazio on Wednesday as they begin to feel the breath of the chasing pack upon their necks in the Scudetto race.

Simone Inzaghi's visiting side deservedly defeated Napoli last time out to sit eighth in the Serie A standings - just three points behind rivals Roma in the coveted fourth spot.

We say: AC Milan 1-1 Lazio

Having shaken off some disappointing results to beat close rivals Napoli, Simone Inzaghi's side travel to San Siro with renewed confidence and have Ciro Immobile in flying form.

Milan's deepening injury crisis may see them dip below their brilliant best, resulting in a score draw which could open the door for co-tenants Inter to top the table at Christmas.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Napoli vs. Torino (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Following what striker Andrea Petagna described as their "worst game of the year" on Sunday, Napoli have the ideal opportunity to bounce back as they welcome troubled Torino to Stadio Diego Maradona on Wednesday.

The Granata hope to end a sorry year on a rare high note, after their home draw with Bologna last time out leaves them languishing third from bottom of the Serie A standings on just seven points.

We say: Napoli 2-2 Torino

After securing Europa League progress following a relentless autumn/winter schedule, Napoli have seemingly started to run out of steam at the turn of the year, so may be susceptible to a surprise result this week.

Marco Giampaolo has pleaded for - and subsequently received - patience from the Torino hierarchy but time is surely ticking down on his tenure in Turin.

Pulling off an against-the-odds result in Naples, then, could prolong his stay and give the Granata hope that 2021 will be kinder to one of Calcio's most historic clubs.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Sampdoria vs. Sassuolo (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Sassuolo travel to Sampdoria on Wednesday night after suffering their first defeat in three matches, having gone down 2-1 at home to AC Milan - a game that saw Rafael Leao score the fastest-ever Serie A goal after just six seconds.

Sassuolo's opponents Sampdoria come into this matchup off the back of two wins, with the latest coming by way of a 3-1 win at home to struggling Crotone.

We say: Sampdoria 1-1 Sassuolo

Sassuolo's strong away form, coupled with Sampdoria's poor home run, suggests that De Zerbi's men could take points away from this matchup. That said, Sampdoria are coming into this match off the back of two wins and, based on that, we are predicting that this one will finish honours even.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Udinese vs. Benevento (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

Benevento manager Filippo Inzaghi pictured in September 2020© Reuters

Udinese welcome Benevento to Stadio Friuli on Wednesday night as two sides who occupy mid-table status collide in the hope of breaking into the top half.

Udinese are unbeaten in their last four, but could not get past Cagliari last time out after being held to a draw away from home.

Benevento came through against a struggling Genoa to win 2-0 and continue what has been a promising season for the Serie A newcomers so far.

We say: Udinese 2-1 Benevento

Benevento have made a bright start to the season, but this will be a tough away outing, and we expect this experienced Udinese side to make the most of their home advantage and come out on top.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
