Danny Blind has been appointed the new head coach of the Netherlands football team.
The 53-year-old replaces Guus Hiddink, who quit the role at the start of the week following 10 months in charge.
Blind, who won 42 caps as a player for the Dutch national side, had been working as Hiddink's assistant coach.
The Netherlands are currently in third place in their Euro 2016 qualification table, taking 10 points from a possible 18.
"Along with staff and players, I will be working hard to qualify for the European Championship finals next year," Blind is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "That's my only goal, getting to the Euros. Now is not the time to look back, only forward. Reaching the European Championship is all that matters."
They continue their qualifying campaign on September 3 at home to leaders Iceland.
