Sporting Kansas City 3-0 New England Revolution

Sporting Kansas City go top of the Eastern Conference as they thrash 10-man New England Revolution in the MLS.

Sporting Kansas City have gone to the top of the Eastern Conference after thrashing 10-man New England Revolution in the MLS.

The visitors' already difficult task was made ever harder after 14 minutes when Stephen McCarthy was
shown a straight red card for bringing down C.J. Sapong when he was in on goal.

Kansas made their numerical advantage count just before the half-hour when Graham Zusi tapped in Kei Kamara's low cross from close range.

The lead was doubled six minutes before the break as Kamara slid the ball past Matt Reis from eight yards.

Sapong, who was the match-winner in last week's 1-0 win over D.C. United, sealed the victory just after half time with a simple finish after good work from Seth Sinovic.

The scoreline could have been worse for Revolution if it wasn't for an excellent performance by Reis, who made impressive saves to deny A. J. Soares and then Sapong.
