Siem de Jong is scheduled to resume training with Newcastle United on Thursday after recovering from a collapsed lung.
The Dutch midfielder was on the verge of returning from a four-month thigh-injury induced layoff when he suffered a collapsed lung for the second time in his career.
He will not be available to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday, but has been given the thumbs up to intensify his rehabilitation.
The last X-ray was all good! So tomorrow I will start training for myself again. #NUFC #comebackstronger 💪

De Jong has only played three times for the Magpies since his £6m summer arrival from Ajax, upon which he was immediately named vice-captain at St James' Park.
