Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita has revealed that he and his teammates were content to take a point from their Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
Both teams had decent chances in the 90 minutes at Villa Park, but neither could find the net in the goalless draw as the Magpies earned their first point of the campaign.
Anita told the club's official website: "We had a couple of chances to score, the last one with Siem [De Jong], and we're disappointed that we didn't get the three points but, overall, we are happy with an away point.
"It's always good to get points, and this one was a point away from home, which is good. But we wanted to win, and we pushed for a win, but unfortunately we didn't get it and a point is a good result, I think."
Newcastle are next in action in the Capital One Cup against Gillingham on Tuesday.
