Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback has insisted that he and his teammates will not be thinking about trying to "get one over" on former manager Alan Pardew when they face Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Pardew left his role as Magpies boss in December and swiftly took over at Palace, where he has overseen five victories and one defeat in all competitions.
Colback told the Chronicle: "The Alan Pardew thing is irrelevant but it will be blown up in the media.
"As players we aren't going into the game thinking, 'let's get one over the old manager'. We're just going in to get three points and push up the table so that's what we will be focusing on."
Newcastle are currently five points above 13th-placed Palace in the Premier League table.
