Newcastle United midfielder Siem de Jong has stated that head coach Steve McClaren will get the club out of their current slump.
The Magpies sit 19th in the Premier League after failing to win any of their opening six games.
De Jong has insisted that there is enough quality in the Magpies' squad to climb up the table if they can settle into a successful playing style.
"Everyone believes we can do it. It's just a matter of putting the pieces together. At one point it's going to fit and we're going to get the results," the Dutchman told the Northern Echo.
"It's always difficult at the beginning of the season with a new manager and new players. Sometimes it fits straight away, and sometimes it takes a few weeks.
"It's not a concern about all the results, but we want to win. We're disappointed we didn't win. We want to figure out how we can get the win. That's what we want to do this week, starting with the cup game."
Newcastle face Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup on Wednesday evening.
