Newcastle United defender Mathieu Debuchy has insisted that the team is determined to do better next season.
The Magpies endured a difficult last campaign in the Premier League, narrowly avoiding relegation as they finished above the drop zone by five points.
"There is a determination within the squad to improve next season," France international Debuchy is quoted as saying by Goal.com.
"It's not been good enough for a team such as Newcastle United to do what they did in the last campaign, and everyone knows that. We will do better next time."
Debuchy joined Newcastle on a five-and-a-half-year contract from Lille in January.
