Newcastle United 'have no immediate plan to replace director Joe Kinnear'

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley reportedly has no plan to immediately replace Joe Kinnear as director of football following the 67-year-old's resignation.

Newcastle United are reportedly in no rush to find a new figure to replace Joe Kinnear as director of football.

The Magpies announced yesterday that the 67-year-old has resigned from his position having spent less than seven months in the role.

The Premier League outfit did not provide a reason behind the departure of Kinnear, who received a mixed reaction from Newcastle fans following his appointment.

According to PA, club owner Mike Ashley has no immediate plan to call on a replacement this season at St James' Park.

Kinnear failed to secure a permanent signing during both the summer and the winter transfer windows while at Newcastle.
