Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew believes that a win over Manchester City could get the Magpies' season back on track.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that if his side secure a victory over Premier League champions Manchester City this weekend, the Magpies may begin a winning run.

The North-East outfit have slumped to 14th in the league table and sit just two points away from relegation.

"We are having a tough run, but the work ethic is there," BBC Sport quotes Pardew as saying. "One big result, which could happen this weekend, could change a lot of the picture and we could find ourselves in a good position in the league."

Meanwhile, City head into the fixture six points adrift of leaders Manchester United.
