Alan Pardew says that he will "try" to get Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse back for Newcastle's match against Blackburn.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is looking forward to welcoming back Demba Ba and new signing Papiss Cisse following Senegal's early exit from the African Cup of Nations.

The duo have been unavailable for the Magpies since joining up with the Senegal national team earlier this month. However, following the side's shock exit from the Nations Cup group stage, Pardew will be able to re-call the pair for Newcastle duty.

"[Will Ba and Cisse be back for] Blackburn on Wednesday? That's probably tight, but we might try to get them back for that," said Pardew. "They are two great players and you want your best players in and around your team."

The North East side take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
