Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has insisted that his side can still earn a top-10 finish following Sunday's 2-1 win over Stoke City in the Premier League.
Papiss Cisse netted the decisive goal in the 92nd minute at St James' Park after Yohan Cabaye had cancelled out Jonathan Walters's penalty.
"It was a very important win for us, because it jumps us right up the Premier League and gives us a chance to attack the top 10," Pardew told Sky Sports News.
"But we were fortunate in some ways. Stoke came here and were excellent today and that was as good a defensive display as you will see."
The win has lifted Newcastle up to 13th place in the Premier League table.
