Report: John Carver won't walk away from Newcastle United

John Carver is reportedly determined to finish the season with Newcastle United, despite slamming his players following their latest defeat.

John Carver is reportedly determined to see Newcastle United through to the end of the season, despite his recent outburst against the players.

The 50-year-old, who has overseen the team lose their last eight Premier League games, singled out Mike Williamson following the Magpies' 3-0 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.

Carver accused the defender of getting sent off on purpose at the King Power Stadium, but the player himself has denied deliberately causing his 62nd-minute dismissal.

According to the Daily Star, Carver intends to stay as manager for Newcastle's final three games of the campaign after holding talks with managing director Lee Charnley at the weekend.

During the discussion, it is believed that Carver was ordered to make peace in the dressing room prior to Saturday's home match against West Bromwich Albion.

Carver is in interim charge at St James' Park and widespread reports have suggested that Derby County boss Steve McClaren will replace him in the summer.

The Magpies are just two points above the relegation zone with three matches of the season remaining.
