Cheick Tiote: 'Three points will come soon'

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote admits that defeat to Stoke City is difficult to take, but believes their performances will earn them three points soon.

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote has admitted that defeat to Stoke City was "difficult", but insisted that a win will come soon.

The Magpies suffered their fourth successive Premier League defeat in the 2-1 loss at the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday night.

Tiote said that the side were "very disappointed" with the loss and believes that their performance did not deserve the result as they were the better side on the night.

The 26-year-old told the club's official website: "This was so difficult for the team to take. We played well and were the better team on the pitch.

"Everyone is very disappointed, but we were much brighter than we have been recently and had more energy on the pitch.

"If you play well like we did, then you expect to win the game, so if we continue to play like this, we will get three points again very soon."

Alan Pardew's side face Wigan Athletic at home on Monday night.
