Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Newcastle United could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Leicester City.

Newcastle United could be without as many as five players for Saturday's Premier League clash with Leicester City at St James' Park.

Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles (both knee) and Emil Krafth (shoulder) all remain sidelined with injuries, while Callum Wilson is now facing another lengthy spell in the treatment room after picking up a fresh thigh problem that is set to rule him out for a couple of months.

Joe Willock missed last weekend's 4-2 defeat at Brentford with a "very minor" hamstring strain according to manager Eddie Howe, and the midfielder will be assessed ahead of kickoff.

Despite a poor defensive performance in the loss at Brentford, Howe is unlikely to make too many changes, if any, to his back four. Kieran Trippier is in contention to return at right-back, but Valentino Livramento may retain his place alongside Fabian Schar, Dan Burn and Lewis Hall.

Sandro Tonali, who remains "happy at Newcastle" according to his agent amid rumours of a return to Italy, is set to battle with Sean Longstaff for a start in midfield alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton.

Anthony Gordon was left out of the starting lineup last time out, but he could return on Saturday at the expense of Harvey Barnes or Jacob Murphy and link up with star striker Alexander Isak in attack.

Newcastle United possible starting lineup: Pope; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Gordon, Isak, Barnes
