Preview: Newcastle United vs. Southampton

Sports Mole looks ahead to Sunday's Premier League clash between Newcastle United and Southampton.

Newcastle United host Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday looking to record back-to-back victories at St James' Park for the first time since April 2012.

Alan Pardew's side lost 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur on February 9 to bring to an end a run of two successive wins.

The Saints have been on a good run of form since dismissing Nigel Adkins as manager, with new boss Mauricio Pochettino leading them to one win and two draws, his one defeat coming against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Pardew could ring the changes for the match against his former club, with Steven Taylor, Mathieu Debuchy and Davide Santon pushing for starts after they missed Thursday's 1-0 Europa League victory over Metalist Kharkiv.

Jose Fonte and Guly do Prado are both in contention for Southampton after overcoming injuries, while Adam Lallana may return to the starting XI after finding himself on the bench for the 3-1 victory over Manchester City on February 10.
