Norwich City and Newcastle United clash ends goalless

Norwich City and Newcastle United play out a goalless draw in their Premier League clash at Carrow Road.

Norwich City and Newcastle United have played out a goalless draw at Carrow Road in the Premier League this evening, with both sides ending the game with 10 men.

Newcastle were the first to create a chance when Moussa Sissoko fed Loic Remy outside the box, with the striker's right-footed effort creeping wide of the right post.

Remy had a great chance after a quarter of an hour as he latched on to Sissoko's pass inside the box before seeing his shot kept out by John Ruddy.

The French striker thought it would be third-time lucky when he created another standout chance, this time as he lashed the ball against the post with his right foot having been played in by Sissoko on the counter.

Hatem Ben Arfa was next to try for the visitors as they dominated the first period, but the Frenchman's shot was kept out as it was headed towards the centre of goal.

Norwich almost found themselves with a surprise lead going into the break as Gary Hooper smashed a shot towards goal having been picked out by Leroy Fer, though Tim Krul did well to get down low and make the save.

Newcastle's bad luck in front of goal continued in the second half as Remy fired another shot against the woodwork, this time as the striker's shot cannoned back off the bar following a free kick.

Remy was wasteful again as he headed wide from close range, before Sammy Ameobi failed to convert from Ben Arfa's cross as Newcastle became increasingly frustrated.

The visitors' irritation came to a boiling point when Remy clashed with Bradley Johnson, leaving both players to be shown straight red cards as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
