Newcastle United to discuss Rafael Benitez's future this week?

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez will reportedly sit down with managing director Lee Charnley later this week to discuss the club's January transfer budget.

Rafael Benitez's future as Newcastle United manager could become clearer this week as the club have reportedly arranged a meeting to discuss their transfer budget.

The 58-year-old has made no secret of his unhappiness at St James' Park with regards to incoming player activity over the past two summers.

Benitez is said to have threatened to walk out on the Magpies at the end of the season when his existing deal expires, unless his demands are met.

According to The Telegraph, the Spaniard will make a series of requests when sitting down with managing director Lee Charnley later this week, with United's plans for the January transfer window high on the agenda.

Should Benitez be promised rare funding in the winter window, it is suggested that a new deal could be discussed ahead of next summer.
