Newcastle United have allowed goalkeeper Brendan Pearson to sign a loan deal with non-league neighbours Gateshead.
The National League outfit have already taken fellow Magpies stopper Paul Woolston on a similar deal, and Gateshead boss Malcolm Crosby admits that he is grateful to the Premier League club for allowing him to replace the injured Shaun MacDonald.
Crosby told the club's official website: "We are very grateful for Newcastle lending us both goalkeepers at such short notice."
Pearson is available for Gateshead's trip to Guiseley in the National League on Saturday afternoon.
