Newcastle United head coach Steve McClaren has claimed that some of the club's targets will come as a surprise to people as he continues his bid to improve the squad ahead of the new season.
The Magpies have completed deals for Georginio Wijnaldum and Aleksandar Mitrovic, while reports have suggested that Chancel Mbemba is also close to securing a move to St James' Park, but McClaren expects there to be more arrivals.
"We're working hard on signings. People are mentioning this name and that name, but we have a lot of names that people have not got hold of yet," the Newcastle boss told reporters.
"We have been close with them. At the moment we have two in, and we're looking for others. But they have to be the right ones."
Despite McClaren's comments, reports have suggested that Newcastle will not pay the £15m asking price for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin.
