Newcastle United, Bordeaux confirm Henri Saivet agreement

Both Newcastle United and Bordeaux reveal that Henri Saivet is on Tyneside for a medical and contract negotiations.

Newcastle United have confirmed that they have agreed a fee with French counterparts Bordeaux to sign Henri Saivet.

A recent report claimed that the 25-year-old had arrived on Tyneside earlier today to undergo contract negotiations and a medical examination.

Manager Steve McClaren has now verified the speculation, telling reporters: "We are just waiting for the outcome [of the medical and talks]."

Meanwhile, Bordeaux's head coach Willy Sagnol added: "Newcastle and Bordeaux have agreed on the transfer of Henri Saivet."

It is believed that Saivet, who scored against Liverpool in the Europa League earlier this season, will set Newcastle back around £4m.
