Newcastle United confirm Facundo Ferreyra loan signing

Newcastle United confirm the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk striker Facundo Ferreyra on a season-long loan deal, with an option-to-buy clause.

Newcastle United have confirmed the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk striker Facundo Ferreyra on a season-long loan.

The Premier League club has the option to buy the 23-year-old Argentine at the end of the campaign.

Ferreyra, who joined Shakhtar from Velez Sarsfield in July 2013, scored six goals for the Ukrainian club.

"I am very pleased to sign for Newcastle United," he told the club's official website. "I like the Premier League and when I knew that Newcastle were interested in me, it was a very easy decision to make."

Ferreyra has joined up with his new teammates in Germany for the Schalke Cup.
