Newcastle United have reportedly identified AC Milan forward Fabio Borini as a potential signing.
Borini completed a permanent switch to San Siro in the summer after a successful loan spell from Sunderland, but the 27-year-old has made just six appearances in Serie A this season.
According to Tuttomercato, Newcastle are monitoring the situation and may be willing to provide the versatile attacker with the chance to return to the North-East of England.
The Magpies have improved in recent weeks, but manager Rafael Benitez remains keen to improve his options in the final third of the pitch.
Borini still has over two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, but Milan will likely consider a sale should they receive an offer close to their valuation.
