Newcastle 'given boost in Rodrigues pursuit'

Newcastle United are boosted in their pursuit of Garry Rodrigues as Galatasaray are willing to cash in on the attacker, according to a report.

Galatasaray have reportedly placed attacker Garry Rodrigues on the transfer list, amid rumours that he is a top target for Rafael Benitez at Newcastle United.

The Magpies are desperately looking to add some firepower to their ranks for the second half of the season, having netted just six times in the Premier League this term.

Rodrigues is among those to have been touted as a possible option for Newcastle and, according to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, Galatasaray are happy to conduct business.

Despite scoring three goals in eight appearances for Gala in 2018-19, the Turkish giants are prepared to cash in as they must adhere to Financial Fair Play regulations.

However, Newcastle could face competition from La Liga duo Valencia and Villarreal for Rodrigues's signature.
