Newcaslte United face competition if they are to make a move for FC Twente right-back Roberto Rosales.

Newcastle United are interested in signing FC Twente defender Roberto Rosales, according to the player's agent.

The 28-year-old right-back is also believed to have caught the attention of Potuguese side FC Porto.

Claudio Barrios, Rosales's agent, has now revealed that four other clubs are also tracking his client.

"Newcastle and FC Porto are two clubs that are closely following Roberto," the Newcastle Chronicle quotes Barrios as saying.

"There is also interest from two German and two Spanish clubs, but the transfer market will be open for a long time and I remind everyone that most deals will be completed in August."

Rosales, who has 33 caps for Venezuela, moved to Twente from Belgian side Gent in 2010.
