Newcastle United have retained their interest in Feyenoord striker Nicolai Jorgensen with a view to a summer move, according to reports.
The Magpies attempted to get a deal over the line for the Danish forward in the January window but failed to match Feyenoord's £20m valuation and the move reportedly fell through.
Although Newcastle brought in Leicester City's Islam Slimani on loan until the end of the season, the Daily Star claims that Rafael Benitez remains keen on Jorgensen.
The report goes on to claim that the 27-year-old is viewed as the long-term solution to Newcastle's goalscoring problems and will be pursued in the summer should the Tynesiders survive in the Premier League.
The Denmark international has been in good form this season, netting nine times in 20 appearances for the Eredivisie giants.
