Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar depart Newcastle United for a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday as part of a late exodus from St James' Park on deadline day.

Newcastle United have confirmed the deadline-day departures of Rolando Aarons, Achraf Lazaar and Jacob Murphy to the Championship.

Aarons and Lazaar have joined Sheffield Wednesday for the remainder of the season, while Murphy is to link up with promotion-chasing West Bromwich Albion.

West Brom had been keen to get a deal over the line for Murphy on the final day of the transfer window and did so with just seconds remaining.

Aarons recently returned from a spell with Czech outfit Slovan Liberec, where he made 13 appearances, and he will now play a part in Wednesday's final 18 matches of the season.

Lazaar, meanwhile, has not featured for the Magpies in 18 months, instead being used regularly at Under-23s level.
