Newcastle United are reportedly planning to offer new contracts to Fabian Schar and Jonjo Shelvey.
Schar has emerged as key player since Eddie Howe took over, starting all of the Magpies' ongoing five-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.
However, his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, and The Telegraph reports that Newcastle are now ready to offer him a new deal.
The report also claims that the Magpies want to extend Shelvey's stay at St James' Park, with the 29-year-old also emerging as a key figure in Howe's plans so far.
Shelvey's current deal does not expire until 2023, but Newcastle want to tie him down to a new contract before the end of the season.
Howe's side have taken nine points from the last 15 on offer in the Premier League, lifting them four points clear of the relegation zone.
