Newcastle United have reportedly made Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani their top transfer target this summer, with the club's prospective new owners keen to bring in some big names.
Paperwork for the new ownership is currently underway after an agreement was made on Monday between Mike Ashley and PCP Capital Partners.
According to ESPN, the Magpies are hoping to make Cavani their first big signing, with the forward's contract set to expire this summer.
As well as signing a world-class striker, the Premier League outfit are also hoping to bring in either Massimiliano Allegri or Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.
Since joining the Ligue 1 giants back in 2013, Cavani has scored 200 goals in 300 appearances, becoming the club's all-time leading scorer.
