Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Burnley duo Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady.
Both players will see their current deals at Turf Moor expire at the end of June.
According to TEAMtalk, Sean Dyche's side are in talks with Hendrick over a new deal, but there is no guarantee that the midfielder will pen an extension.
The report claims that Newcastle boss Steve Bruce is determined to bring the former Derby County youngster to St James' Park, while Brady, who played under Bruce at Hull City, is another target.
The Magpies are likely to face strong competition for both players, though, with teams from the Premier League and Championship, in addition to Scottish giants Celtic, said to be monitoring developments.
Newcastle are also allegedly keen to tie up a permanent deal for Tottenham Hotspur's Danny Rose.
