Alan Pardew has expressed his desire to keep Demba Ba at Newcastle United.
The Senegal international's form in front of goal last season has reportedly alerted a number of European clubs.
However, Pardew has revealed that he is eager for the centre-forward to stay at the Sports Direct Arena beyond the summer.
"I want Demba to stay," he said. "He's a Newcastle player and all I'm focusing on is making sure he's a Newcastle player next season."
The 27-year-old joined the Magpies in 2011 from West Ham United.
